July started off slow like the last few months when I got barely any reading done but I finally dragged myself out of my reading slump and started devouring books and I am so pleased. All these books I listened to in audiobook form as I like listening while I get jobs done. This is probably also the last time you will see this background unless I decide to upload some old drafts as I am moving rooms.
THUG by Angie Thomas
I had heard so much hype over this book and it definitely deserved it. It was really powerful and emotional and the narrator was perfect for Star.
I gave this 4/5 rating.
We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
This book...just didn't grip me. I never really felt like there was a storyline, I spent the whole time waiting for something to happen that never came. The only bonus for this book is its beautiful cover.
I gave this 2/5 stars.
Geekerella by Ashley Poston
Although this is our August book of the month I may have started it early to ensure it got read in time and kinda got a bit addicted and read it all the day before August...whoops. I really enjoyed this book, it filled my geeky heart with joy and cleverly stuck to Cinderella really well whilst being totally different. The only downfall was the end.
*spoilers* I was a bit disappointed with the end relationship between them, it kinda just felt wrong compared to the rest of the Storyline. *spoilers*
That's it for July, glad to finally be out of my reading slump.
