Why read?

Tags: book

Every single bookworm has been asked why read? Why don't you just watch the movie? Enter one of my favourite quotes:

Today I am listing the reasons you should read. Use these responses for any non-reader you know!

1. Probably the most important reason is that it is actually enjoyable! Reading is an escape from reality where you can think and imagine whatever you want. Books have no rules or boundaries it is completely your choice!!

2. You can learn new things. When I say this I don't just mean if you read non-fiction books, you can learn from any book. I personally learn so many random (usually useless) facts from reading.

3. Your neighbours will never complain that you are being too loud....
Okay that's not a very convincing point but in all seriousness books do not disturb anyone but you which means you can read them at any time!

4. You will never run out. I know all bookworms hate to admit it but there is just no way that we are ever going to read all of the books we would like.

5. You always have a friend who is loyal to you. Even when you are feeling your most loneliest you can always find a book to keep you company.

6. You can travel. With books you can visit new countries or worlds without actually having to leave your own house!

7. Reading brings people together. If someone shows genuine interest in what you read they are much more likely to have similar interests and easier to get along with. There are whole bookish communities that you can be a part of!

8. You can use them in self defense. I wouldn't advise it as it would harm the book but if you were looking for a last resort a big hardback (Cassandra Clare would be best) could do some damage...

Now I am drifting away from my point..
But seriously if you don't read goooo!
