A significant portion of Book Two of Melody and the Pier to Forever takes place at or near this village situated at the very end of the Wolfsnake. As it turns out, a significant portion of Book Three takes place at or near there as well.

Anthtree is so named after the gargantuan floating trees that migrate south over the village during the Aquanian summer.


Anthtrees can grow over three miles tall. I'm busy on an illustration of one now, the point of view that of looking straight up at it. The illustration immediately above is in Book Two, and is looking at Anthtree and Anurag de Bouchard's singleship, the Selaki, as he sails away from port.

The map above points out the site of the Keeper battle he inadvertently got mixed up in. Kye illustrated that for me. It's one of my favorite illustrations in the series thus far.


Book Three is coming along nicely. I'm eight chapters in, with probably forty left to go. It'll be very large just like Books One and Two are. It will, like its predecessors, come with some epic illustrations too!
