Tree-Hugging Cats – 3

Compare this with the elementary Particle fired towards a wall with two holes in it. Does the unobserved particle go through one hole or the other? No, it goes through both.

Our world is very strange indeed and it may be that ESP is the least strange of all the phenomena in our existence. The book doesn’t mention whether a Buddhist or a Buddhist cat would be able to conduct a test to see whether they can receive thoughts from other people. I once read in the library about Henri Bergson who wrote that our brains filtered ‘thoughts’ for want of a better word, so that we became conscious of certain thoughts and not others. It’s possible that the Brain filters out incoming thoughts from other people and so we’re not aware of receiving them. Occasionally, something happens and the brain doesn’t filter the thoughts out and we receive them, but these occasions are rare, which could explain why ESP isn’t a reliable skill for anyone, only for some people sometimes.

I try some ESP when Mary and John go shopping. I send them kind thoughts about buying cat food containing fish oil or Omega-3 oil to improve my memory. I’m not sure if that’s being selfish or not? It would help Gemma too, not that her memory isn’t excellent already, especially in relation to bank accounts and the names of charities.

In connection with this wish, I’ve decided to read Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? by Dr Julie Smith who is a clinical psychologist and helps people understand their lives and why they have the thoughts they do. It seems as though most thoughts come into our minds whether we want them to or not, so we have to learn to evaluate our thoughts and discard the ones we don’t want. Thoughts are not facts. With this thought, I find myself drifting off to sleep and that’s a fact. I’m looking forward to the next today, as I will be able to go out and about in the garden and see my friends in the garden and perhaps in the park.
