Book Review – The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald

I didn’t like most of the characters in this Book as they had too much money for their own good. This is down to the superb writing of course and the setting of the scenes.

Gatsby is infatuated with Daisy who is married to Tom and has a friend called Jordan. The narrator, Nick Caraway, lives next door to Jay Gatsby and gets included in the lavish parties Jay throws to attract Daisy who lives across the waters of Long Island in New York. He becomes friends with both Daisy and Jay and is viewed by Jay as a catalyst for him taking Daisy away from Tom. Jay has been infatuated with Daisy since they first met in Lousiville five years previously. Tom has a mistress whose untimely demise leads to the rather shocking conclusion.

Recommended and on to the next Fitzgerald book in about 83 books time…
