Virtual book tours, for example, are a great way to connect with readers from all corners of the globe, all from the comfort of your own home. Join Gary T. Moore and Navigating in Organizations as they appear in features and interviews (such as the one below) in the weeks and months ahead!

Luckily for us, Gary T. Moore was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Navigating in Organizations.

Outskirts Press: Tell us a little bit about Navigating in Organizations. What is it about?

Gary: My book is about how to help individuals further their career in organizations they are part of, or about to be part of …and how organizations can further their effectiveness by helping the organizational skills of their members.

Outskirts Press: Why did you decide to write this story?

Gary: I have learned a lot about organizational effectiveness in the many organizations I have been part of and wanted to share this information. I have also seen many people frustrated by their inability to be effective in organizations and this is a handbook for improving that…and a warning about things not to do.

Outskirts Press: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
Gary:

Young people just beginning their career in any organization…business, nonprofit, military, academic…whatever. It gives them a head start. This would include high school graduates focused on their career as they enter careers or universities; university students who may be or want to be leaders. Fresh university graduates just entering the workforce.
Also professionals with technical skills who want to be more effective in selling their ideas, moving their career and their organizations forward, but who haven’t studied these skills. Organizations who want to help their employees…and consequently their organizations…be more effective. Parents and grandparents who want to help their family members move forward more effectively.

Outskirts Press: What is special about your book?

Gary: The real-world examples I give from my personal experiences and observations.

Outskirts Press: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

Gary: Real world examples in the book of successes I have seen by people utilizing the skills …including me. And Real-world examples of mistakes by not using what is taught in the book…including mistakes by me. At the end of the book is a template for a Personal Board of Advisors which, while not a unique concept with me, does again give real world examples to bring this to life and relates it to career objectives.

Outskirts Press: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?

Gary: I published Objective Based Selling which was originally a book specific to selling capital equipment in the material handling industry where I built my career. It has been expanded to another book Objective Based Selling in Wholesale Distribution published by the National Association of Wholesale Distributors. A separate industry specific book published by the National Association of Wholesale Distributors: Taking Charge of Distribution Sales; 9 Proven Skills to Lead and Manage Your Sales Team. I have no current plans to write or publish more books.

Outskirts Press: How can someone learn more about your book or purchase it?

Gary: Navigating in Organizations and Objective Based Selling can be purchased through Outskirts Press and Amazon. The other two books are through the National Association of Wholesale Distributors

Outskirts Press: Thanks for your time, Gary! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
