BRONX - A pair of Bronx Thieves were so brazen that they not only used a brick to break into a business but were then seen on video casually walking down the block with the entire rotating display stand of sunglasses, newly released video shows.
Police released the shocking video which shows one of the thieves walking from the Store on East 167th Street in Highbridge, carrying a rotating sunglass display stand. The thief was walking away from the store he had just burglarized. Broken glass, a smashed chair and shattered merchandise lined the street outside the store where the thieves broke in.
At around 2 am on July 9, a man and a woman walked up to a commercial business that was closed for the day. One of the men threw a brick through the front window of the store at 193 East 167th Street. Apparently the protective gates were not drawn at the time allowing the thieves to gain quick entry once the glass was shattered.
The store advertises on the sign that they sell apparel, luggage, sunglasses, phone accessories and more. Other than the sunglass display stand it is unclear how much and what type of merchandise was stolen. Both thieves were seen hauling a garbage bag and boxes worth of merchandise in addition to the display stand.
The first suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion who is between the ages of 30 and 40. Cops said the man has a thin build and a distinctive spotting in his scalp. He was last seen wearing a tan colored t-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a female with a dark complexion. She is believe to be between the ages of 30 and 40. She is 5 foot 6 with a bald head a thin build. She was last seen wearing a white tank top, denim blue shorts, and light blue sneakers.
