73-Year-Old Patricia Tidwell Identified in Fatal Crash in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY, TX (May 24, 2024) – Officials identified 73-year-old Patricia Tidwell of Round Top who died in a head-on crash on Farm-to-Market 50 on May 16.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Devault Lane around 6:24 PM. Based on a report, Tidwell was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima southbound on Farm-to-Market 50 before the crash.
At the same time, a 2023 Ford Expedition was traveling northbound. Due to unknown reasons, the Nissan went into the northbound lanes and struck the Ford head-on.
As a result, Washington County Justice of the Peace Douglas Cone pronounced Tidwell dead at the scene.
Emergency crews took the driver of the Ford to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in College Station with minor injuries.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
