Timmy Cormier Arrested, Pedestrian Killed after North Las Vegas DUI Accident
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (May 24, 2024) — Authorities arrested 63-year-old Timmy Cormier after a DUI fatal accident on Monday, May 13.
According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the crash took place on Las Vegas Boulevard North, between Carey Avenue and Pecos Road, at around 8:00 p.m.
Investigators determined Cormier drove a Hyundai Sonata north on Las Vegas Boulevard. Then the pedestrian tried to cross the roadway eastbound. Then the vehicle struck her.
First responders transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center’s trauma center where they pronounced her dead. Authorities only identified her as in her 30s.
Police arrested Cormier and booked him into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center for DUI resulting in death, intoxicated person in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
At this time, investigators believe intoxication and speed contributed as factors in the crash.
North Las Vegas police are still investigating the accident.
