Chase Nunez Killed in Motorcycle Crash on 43rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road
PHOENIX, AZ (May 22, 2024) — A rider identified as 22-year-old Chase Nunez died after a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, May 14.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash took place near 43rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Phoenix Police said Nunez traveled westbound on Happy Valley Road. Then his motorcycle crashed with another vehicle moving eastbound and trying to turn left onto 43rd Avenue.
As officers arrived, they discovered Nunez with serious injuries. Firefighters tried to save Nunez’s life. However, he later died at the scene from sustained injuries in the crash.
The car driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Officers believe speed may have been a factor in the collision.
Authorities said there might be charges once detectives have reconstructed the accident scene.
The investigation of the collision is still underway.
