Jimmy Contreras Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (May 22, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 68-year-old Jimmy Contreras who died in a pedestrian accident on 16th Street on May 14.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Thomas Road around 9:30 PM. Based on a report, Contreras was in the eastbound lanes of Thomas Road at the time of the incident.
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him.
Officers responded to the area and found Contreras with grave injuries. Subsequently, emergency crews took him to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police say the driver remained on scene following the collision. It was unclear if that person faced any charges.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
