Man Killed in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident on East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Lamont Street
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 21, 2024) — A 27-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on East Lake Mead Boulevard on Friday, May 10.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred at around 6:44 a.m. at East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Lamont Street.
LVMPD said a 35-year-old man drove a Lincoln Navigator westbound on Lake Mead Boulevard approaching Lamont. There were teens, 16 and 13, who were with him inside the vehicle.
At this moment, officers said a pedestrian darted into the roadway southbound. As a result, the pedestrian was almost struck by another car. Yet, ultimately, the Lincoln struck the pedestrian.
Responding medical officers then arrived at the scene. They said that the pedestrian was beyond resuscitation. After that, they pronounced the pedestrian dead.
As of writing, the identity of the pedestrian is not yet available, pending notification of loved ones.
The driver of the Lincoln remained at the scene following the crash. He did not show any signs of impairment, LVMPD said.
The LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section handles the ongoing investigation of the crash.
The pedestrian’s fatality marked the 62nd traffic-related death in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
