Pedestrian Killed in Reno Accident on McCarran Boulevard
RENO, NV (May 16, 2024) — One person died after a pedestrian accident on McCarran Boulevard on Sunday, May 5.
According to the Reno Police Department, the accident took place on McCarran Boulevard north of Sierra Highlands Drive at around 4:00 a.m.
Reno Police said a vehicle struck a person crossing McCarran Boulevard without using a crosswalk. The pedestrian died at the scene. Their identity is not yet available pending notification of loved ones.
Authorities have not released any information about the pedestrian or the vehicle. However, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
According to Reno Police, they do not believe speed or driver impairment contributed as a factor in the accident.
Officers closed Southbound McCarran Boulevard from Sierra Highlands Drive to Mae Anne Boulevard during the investigation.
