Mark Adams Dead, Guadalupe Lopez Alvarez Arrested after Phoenix DUI Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (May 16, 2024) — A 57-year-old man, Mark Davis Adams, died in a DUI accident on Thursday, May 2.
According to the Phoenix Police, the collision involving a car and a motorcycle took place near 21st Street and Broadway Road at about 2:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found Adams, the motorcycle rider, seriously injured. He later died at the scene.
Authorities said the car driver identified as 43-year-old Guadalupe Lopez Lopez Alvarez remained at the scene.
Police said Lopez Alvarez tried to make a U-turn and crossed into Adams’ lane. It caused him to crash into her vehicle.
Police said Lopez Alvarez was the driver at fault in the crash. Throughout the investigation, police discovered she was also on drugs when the accident occurred.
Authorities booked Lopez Alvarez on one count of manslaughter.
