Michael Garcia Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Peoria Avenue in Glendale
GLENDALE, AZ (May 14, 2024) – The Glendale Police Department identified 31-year-old Michael Garcia who died in a pedestrian accident on Peoria Avenue on May 2.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 47th Avenue around 2:40 AM. Based on a report, the victim and an unidentified woman were crossing in the middle of the street at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, a car driving down Peoria Avenue struck them.
As a result, Garcia suffered grave injuries in the incident. First responders rushed him to the hospital, where he later died.
Crews also transported the woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with detectives. Authorities do not believe that impairment played a part in the crash.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. However, no other details are available.
