18-Year-Old Isaiah Parker Killed in High-Speed Crash on 10 Freeway at Prince Road in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (October 6, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department identified 18-year-old Isaiah Nowell Parker who died in a crash on 10 Freeway on October 4.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Prince Road. Based on a report, Parker was driving a BMW west on Prince Road at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to stop for the red light on the eastside of the freeway overpass. At that point, his BMW hit a Honda Accord which was heading north through the intersection on the frontage road.
As a result, Parker suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
Two passengers in the Honda had serious injuries while its driver suffered minor injuries.
An officer from the Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit arrived to the scene and determined that the driver of the Honda was impaired and was cited for misdemeanor DUI. Detectives are working to determine if the BMW was racing another vehicle before the crash.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
