70-Year-Old Bella Harpaz Dead in Reno Pedestrian Accident
RENO, NV (September 25, 2023) — A 70-year-old woman identified as Bella Harpaz died after multiple vehicles struck her on 580 Freeway.
According to Nevada State Police, the incident happened shortly before midnight on Sunday, August 27. They received reports from witnesses about seeing something in the middle of the roadway near the bridge between northbound 580 Freeway and westbound 80 Freeway.
When troopers responded to the scene, they found out that several vehicles struck Harpaz. Police said two cars struck her and both of which fled the scene. After that, a third person struck Harpaz. The third driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities ruled the manner of death as an accident and the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries.
Harpaz was an Israeli who visited the United States. The Medical Examiner’s Office works with the Israeli Consulate and Harpaz’s family to transport her body sent to Israel.
