Jasmine Floyd and Anthony Maravi Struck by Drunk Driver Jordan Hemstreet in Boulder
BOULDER, CO (September 25, 2023) – Officers identified 18-year-old Jasmine Floyd and 19-year-old Anthony Maravi who suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Broadway on September 16.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at 20th Street. Based on a report, the University of Colorado Boulder freshmen were walking home at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, Jordan Hemstreet made a U-turn, jumped the curb and went onto the sidewalk towards the victims. Maravi dove to protect Floyd but the car still struck them.
As a result, Maravi had to have stitches on his right cheek and suffered a fractured wrist, a chipped tooth, road burn, an inflamed side and a lacerated liver. Floyd was in a coma, suffering from multiple concussions, two fractured ribs, a broken clavicle, a fractured bone in her face and a large gash on her head that required multiple stitches.
Officers took Hemstreet into custody for driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless vehicular assault, driving a vehicle on a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
