4 Identified in Fatal Fort Worth Crash on 35 Freeway
FORT WORTH, TX (September 18, 2023) – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 31-year-old Susana Longoria, 23-year-old Kiara Barker, 25-year-old Chase Mapes and 21-year-old Jasmine Jones who died in a crash on 35 Freeway on September 11.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened near Berry Street around 9:09 PM. Based on a report, there was a minor accident between two cars on the freeway prior to the crash.
The drivers pulled over on the left shoulder and another driver stopped to help and partially blocked the left lane. Subsequently, an 18-wheeler collided with the stopped vehicles. Then, another 18-wheeler hit the first 18-wheeler.
As a result, Longoria, Barker of Bastrop, Louisiana, Mapes of Yukon, Oklahoma and Jones all sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
A woman and four men had injuries and were transported to hospitals for treatment.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
