Carlos Lopez Identified in Fatal Road Rage Accident on Highway 317 at Oak Hills Drive in Temple

 
TEMPLE, TX (August 2, 2023) – The Temple Police Department identified 34-year-old Carlos Aguirre Lopez who died in an accident on Highway 317 on July 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Oak Hills Drive around 4:20 PM. Based on a report, Lopez was involved in an apparent road rage incident with another vehicle prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, his small pickup passed a larger truck and hit a curb. The truck then rolled over and the impact threw him off the road.
 
As a result, Lopez sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
His passenger was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition.
