Kevin Bagley Injured, Ivan Hernandez and Cesar Manriquez Arrested for DUI Crashes in Adams County
ADAMS COUNTY, CO (July 26, 2023) — Colorado State Trooper Kevin Bagley sustained injuries following two DUI accidents on Saturday, July 22.
The first crash happened at 3:45 a.m. when state troopers responded to a property damage crash on 270 Freeway.
A Jeep traveling at a high rate of speed hit the side of a Colorado State Patrol cruiser.
The Jeep’s driver, 22-year-old Ivan Hernandez, sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported him to a hospital for evaluation. They arrested him for DUI.
There was no one inside the patrol vehicle at the time of the crash. No one else was injured.
Less than an hour later, at 4:29 a.m., 30-year-old driver Cesar Ayala Manriquez, came upon the crash scene while speeding. He ran over ran over multiple traffic cones to warn of the first crash. After that, he struck a second CSP vehicle driven by Bagley.
Bagley stood outside his vehicle and he tried to back away to escape the crash. He then fell over a bridge barrier approximately 30 feet down an embankment. Paramedics transported him to the hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect driver, Manriquez, also suffered injuries. Medics also rushed him to the hospital for treatment. He was later discharged.
Officials arrested him and he remains in custody in Adams County on charges of vehicular assault- DUI.
