Ricardo Martinez Struck and Killed by DUI Driver on 43rd Avenue at Glendale Avenue in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (June 13, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 35-year-old Ricardo Martinez who died in a pedestrian accident on 43rd Avenue on June 10.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Glendale Avenue around 9:45 PM. Based on a report, a vehicle struck Martinez while he was crossing the street mid-block.
Officers found the victim on top of the vehicle that was stopped.
As a result, Martinez sustained serious injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where he later died.
Police evaluated the driver of the car who showed signs of impairment. They took him into custody and booked for aggravated DUI for driving impaired with a suspended driving privilege.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
