On a fair morning of 23 August 2023, at a coffee shop in Kock Street, he was shot dead in front of the public. It is claimed that two assailants killed the businessman in front of Plato Coffee. The CCTV cameras also caught the killing of Jabulani Gumbi.

As per the CCTV Footage, he was shot repeatedly till he collapsed on the ground. Moreover, he was completely covered in his pool of blood. The staff members and customers present at the spot witnessed the whole incident live.
