Go First has a lengthy history of missing financial obligations – Engine Maker P&W

Pratt & Whitney responded on Wednesday, saying it is “committed to the success of their customers,” but that Go First has a “lengthy history of missing its financial obligations,” following Go First’s decision to seek voluntary resolution of insolvency procedures, cancel flights for three days beginning on May 3, and notify the aviation ministry of its financial inability to do so.

According to a source within P&W, the low-cost carrier has a long history of failing to meet its obligations regarding payments to Pratt & Whitney, according to news agency ANI.

P&W said in a statement: “Pratt & Whitney is committed to the success of our airline customers, and we continue to prioritize delivery schedules for all customers. Pratt & Whitney is complying with the March 2023 arbitration ruling related to Go First. As this is now a matter of litigation, we will not comment further, on.”

The airline said that it would stop operating as of May 3 due to a shortage of engines, forcing it to cancel half of its flights.

The lack of engines from Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has forced the airline to ground 28 aircraft, or over fifty percent of its fleet, leading to a financial crisis, according to Kaushik Khona, the CEO of the airline.
