Zakir Khan Shayari: Zakir Khan is a globally renowned Indian comedian and actor. He first came into the limelight when he won Comedy Central India’s Best Stand-Up Comedian competition in 2012. Later he started appearing in many comedy news shows including On Air with AIB. Since then he has released three standup specials including Tathastu (2022), Haq Se Single (2017) and Kaksha Gyarvi (2018) on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.

He was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on 20th August 1987 to a Muslim Rajasthani family of classical musicians. Many don’t know that he is the grandson of Sarangi Maestro Ustad Moinuddin Khan. Although he spent his life in Delhi, he credits his father with his success. 

Initially, he was doing a diploma in Sitar and decided to drop out. During an interview, he stated that if he had not been a standup comedian then he would be a music teacher. Because of his great punch line and jokes, he has become a face of the Indian stand-up comedy circuit since 2012. Apart from that, he ghostwrites and produces radio shows. He also co-hosted On Air with AIB, a news comedy show alongside Gursimran Khamba and Sorabh Pant in 2015. It was televised in Star World, India. He appeared on the judge’s panel in ‘Comicstaan Season 2’ on Amazon Prime. He mentored the contestant in their comedy genre also known as anecdotal comedy. Later he appeared in Season 3 as a judge. He also appears on the podcast series Ummeed on Gaana where he tells his small life incidents along with his other comedian friends.
