“A few months back I was diagnosed with an auto-immune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front,” is what the caption of the picture she posted said. Realising the seriousness of the problem and disease she also added the hopeful line, “this too shall pass.” Ever since that post she has been receiving well wises from her fans and followers throughout, and from here we wish her well too!
What Is The Disease?
Myositis is an inflammatory disease in which the body naturally assaults the muscles, causing swelling, wasting, and discomfort. Rashes, muscle soreness, and proximal muscle weakening are its main side effects. “Some unusual symptoms such as rashes, breathing difficulty or difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) may also develop later in the disease as it progresses,” Dr. Anurag Agarwal explained further about this illness.

“It is a treatable condition and results are better if treatment is started soon after diagnosis is made.
