Central Government issues Quality Control Order for 10 Chemicals

The Central Government has introduced amendments to several Quality Control Orders for various chemicals such as Morpholine, Acetic Acid, Methanol, Aniline, Pyridine, Gamma Picoline, Beta Picoline, Potassium Carbonate, Acetone and Sodium Tripolyphosphate. These amendments are were introduced 21st July, 2023.

These amendments are aimed at ensuring adherence to standardized quality parameters and enhancing the overall safety and reliability of these chemicals in the market.

The key details of the amendments are as follows:

  1. Morpholine (Quality Control) Order, 2020: The amendment in this order specifies that it shall come into force on 1st February 2024.
  2. Acetic Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2019: The amendment states that this order will be effective from 3rd February 2024.
  3. Methanol (Quality Control) Order, 2019: As per the amendment, this order shall come into force on 3rd February 2024.
  4. Aniline (Quality Control) Order, 2019: The amendment stipulates that this order shall be effective from 3rd February 2024.
  5. Pyridine (Quality Control) Order, 2020: The amendment specifies that this order shall come into force on 13th March 2024.
  6. Gamma Picoline (Quality Control) Order, 2020: The amendment states that this order will be effective from 13th March 2024.
  7. Beta Picoline (Quality Control) Order, 2020: According to the amendment, this order shall come into force on 13th March 2024.
  8. Potassium Carbonate (Quality Control) Order, 2020: The amendment stipulates that this order shall be effective from 13th March 2024.
  9. Acetone (Quality Control) Order, 2020: As per the amendment, this order shall come into force on 13th March 2024.
  10. Sodium Tripolyphosphate (Quality Control) Order, 2020: The amendment specifies that this order shall be effective from 13th March 2024.

These amendments will be crucial in enhancing the quality and safety standards of these chemicals, ensuring their compliance with the prescribed Indian Standards.
