VERIFICATION AND METHODOLOGYUsing reverse-image search on Google search engine, we found a tweet dated July 18, 2016 from Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab MLA Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer tweeting the same photo. As per Hayer, the picture is from Punjab’s Mansa district where a family protested against shoddy sewage work. Although we couldn’t trace the archived version of this news clipping, it can be confirmed that the image is indeed four years old. The reports about waterlogging in various areas of Delhi are however correct. A Times of India report dated July 21, 2016 and titled ‘Heavy rain lashes Delhi, low-lying areas waterlogged’ confirms this. VERDICTTimes Fact Check has found that a four year old image of a waterlogged street from Punjab is being shared with a false claim that it is from Delhi.
