Being behind a steering gives you a unique kind of joy! For some drivers, Driving is a passion and for some it’s an obsession. But for some, it is an integral part of their life.  But no matter what, it is very incumbent to keep in mind the fundamentals of safe driving.  One must understand that safe driving is the safety belt to your life.  So let’s sail through some of the key basics to driving safe.

Car maintenance:

While safe driving is all about keeping the basics in mind, one should understand that a Properly Maintained Car is the backbone of safe driving.  Would you like to take your car out with worn out wheels or partially working battery? You certainly won’t.  Irrespective of the season, one must get a car thoroughly inspected sporadically to keep it in good shape.  Just like a healthy body stokes controllable movements, a properly maintained car will be easy to manoeuvre. Get the battery, tyres, headlights, engine etc. checked periodically so as to avoid spiralling out of control situation.

Tyre checks:

Different seasons have different kinds of tyres: winter tyres in winter and summer tyres in summer. But common to all is the standard pressure and inflation level that these tyres need to have.  In a few European countries, separate laws are carved and enforced to ensure that the tyre pressure and inflation level adhere to an acceptable standard.

Use of indicators:

Indicators are used in a bid to let the approaching or vicinity vehicles know about any movement our turn you want to take.  Make sure that they are in proper working conditions especially during the nights when the possibility of a catastrophe is maximum.

Constant focus and undivided attention:

Needless to say, but your focus should be undeterred while driving on the road. Avoid distractions of all sorts at all costs.  Even a fraction of a second break in attention is likely to spill disasters of epic proportions. Also keep a close watch on the vehicles passing by because a lot of times, their carelessness become the root cause for major accidents.

Respecting Traffic rules:

Do not even think of toying or playing with traffic rules!  The repercussions are likely to be devastating. Breaching a law is the last thing that you may want to do.  A few European oligarchs are merciless towards rule breakers.  By breaking a rule, you are likely to put yourself in the path of disaster. Before driving, understand these rules and follow them religiously.

Other safety measures:

As a driver, do whatever you are supposed to do as per the safety guidelines.  Put on the seat-belts, check the leakages, avoiding rash driving etc. are some of the pivotal measures that should not be compromised.
