Every now and then we are talking about climate change, season change and so on. Every time there is a season change, you are faced with a challenge to adapt to the changing weather conditions. Be it food habits, clothing styles or for that matter your vehicle. With every season change you need to maintain your vehicle to suit to the climatic changes. Your vehicle might be equipped with all weather tires, but harsh winters will not allow them to function properly, so no matter how good quality they are, they need to be replaced with more suitable option. Now how and where to store the old ones when new wheel sets are fixed?

You will not just store them anyways and anyhow. There is a science to storing them well, so they can be in proper condition for the next time use. Firstly let us deal with where to store them? They need to be stored in a controlled environment, unlike an open House or open garage. The temperature, humidity, moisture in air and so on affects the rubber compound making it soft and fragile for next use. Hence they need to be stored in closed and protected environment. If you live in  a house with garage; you are lucky, as you will be able to store them well. But what if no! Then you might have to request your friend or someone who has a house with extra storage space. Luckily, some good brainers have come up with a solution to this in form of a condo locker, where people can store their safely kept summer tires for next use. They charge for their services but an assured protection and safety is offered. They can also come and collect wheels from your house on request and of course extra charge. They are carried and stored in rooms where the climatic aspects such as humidity, temperature are controlled. Any exposure to unwanted or undesired factor that damages good health of wheels is taken care of.

Before you ship them to storage; here are some tips one needs to carefully consider and follow: clean them well with soap water and dry them to avoid any fungus growth. Protect their surface by covering them in protective plastic sheets for maintaining their cleanliness and break the contact from outside atmosphere. This will retain their health longer. Number them, so you don’t interchange them while re-fixing. Now stack them one on other on their rims. This will not put extra weight on the rubber compound and damage or crack it.

Once you have taken care of all these issues, your sets are ready to go into hibernation!
