A landscape that is magical, well where else can you see a white desserts courtesy the stunning salt crystals that stretches miles, the Rann of Kutch is really like no other.

On a recent invitation from Evoke Experiences, I had the fabulous opportunity to realise a long cherished dream of visiting the Great Rann of Kutch and finally be part of the winter festival Rann Utsav.

A Greater Flamingo at Dholavira

This festival that happens each year between November and February is all about celebrating the culture, history, art and culture of the region. Way through Heaven – Dholavira

Apart from the Tent City itself that has a potpourri of experiences, you must visit the Rann for a sunrise and sunset experience. Some of the other places that you can see include the Harappan Settlement at Dholavira. The way to the village is magical – I was lucky to sight my favourite flamingos too!

Rogan Art at Nirona Village

The Harappan site of Dholavira

Move ahead to Kala Dungar, the highest point of Kutch that gives you sweeping views of the landscape dotted with water bodies.

There is much more to the region and to use the tag line ‘Kutch nahin dekha toh kuch nahi delka’ is hardly an understatement. Read the full story that first appeared in Khaleej Times here:
