My second visit to Sri Lanka with the Jetwing Group turned out to be a great experience as I visited Bentota the home of Geoffrey Bawa when I visited Saman Villas.

A property on the beach, Saman Villas is located on a cliff that is surrounded by the azure blue waters of the ocean. A meal at the in house restaurant gives you a stunning view of this setting as well.

The rooms are well appointed and I stayed in a room with a private pool with infinity views of the ocean. being my first time at Bentota, I spoke to Wester the GM to find out more about the place and was thrilled to discover that this was the home of legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa. The town itself is quite a delight with the Madu river cruise being a highlight.

At the retreat I enjoyed typical Sri Lankan fare that was both soul satisfying and tasty. The in house spa is done up beautifully and makes for a refreshing break.
