Easter Excitement

Easter festivities go beyond the ubiquitous Easter egg as we delve into the food traditions that are associated with the celebrations.

Easter calls for family bonding over meal and is deeply connected with food traditions. Around the world, offerings like hot cross buns, chocolate bunnies and eggs are enjoyed for centuries during the Easter festivities. Overall the food spreads the message of Easter is in the air.

Holy Saturday falls between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, it is seen as a day of bereavement and there is no service held through the day in churches. At Night, Most christians attend the Easter Vigil which consists of the renewal of vows as a catholic, the blessing of the fire and the Blessing of the water (The Baptism). It is also a preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday is the day of rejoicing and celebration. It is a day that is celebrated by a Breakfast and lunch Feast along with the breaking of the Easter Egg.

One of the most important traditions on Easter Sunday is the breaking of the easter egg, which dates back to the early Christians of Mesopotamia and is symbol of the resurrection of Christ and new life
