Surefire E2D Defender Ultra Reviewed Features

A bulk of user-friendly features has turned the Ultra to be one of the most significant LED searchlights available out there on the market. We have analyzed most of the vital features.

Let’s check out them-

1

Light Style

Like the previous Surefire Defender E1D version, this E2D Ultra features a unique style. The look is slender and pretty stylish. For self-defense purpose, you can use the integrated crenellated bezel, which is an extra benefit for the users in addition to the bright lights. Moreover, the surefire e2d executive defender has a flared tail cap and an aggressive body knurling.

2

Battery and Compatibility

The unit comes with two 123A SureFire primary batteries with a double brightness providing power than the Previous Surefire Defender E1D version. And, concerning the SureFire E1D vs E2D debate, this feature has made the E2D one step ahead of the E1D But, you can run the unit by using a 3.2V lithium-phosphate 123A rechargeable batteries too. In both side- the head and tail, the batteries are supported by necessary springs. The ‘compatibility to different batteries’ feature has added extra value to the LED unit.

3

Mil-Spec Anodized Body

For enhanced durability, the body is Mil-Spec hard anodized. The structure is pretty strong and good looking. A matt black color makes the appearance more attractive. You can bezel up and bezel down the Ultra with the help of a 2-way clip.

4

Anti-Reflective Coated Head

For peripheral vision, the TIR optic (Total Internal Reflection Optic) creates a tight beam in addition to enough surround light. So, this is very important to protect the unit; and, the light head (a tempered window covered with anti-reflective coating) does the task perfectly.

5

Tail Cap and Click Switch

There is a tail cap housed as shrouded. It’s mentioned above, there is click switch used for controlling the lumen modes. The switch is placed on the tail cap. As the shroud is quite deep, so the E2D Ultra can tail stand on a flat surface. You can prevent any type of unwanted actuation by loosening or rotating the tail cap. The cap has a capacity to turn till one-quarter.

6

Two Output Modes

The E2DL Ultra is equipped with two lumen settings. One is 500 lumens mode. It’s the maximum output level that is maintained by the first press of the tail switch. On the other hand, the second mode is the lowest possible in this unit with 5 lumens output.

By cling the tail switch again you can turn the maximum output level into lowest output level. It’s pretty easy. You can use the high lumen mode for long distance and wide range of task, and the low lumen mode for close tasks.

7

Runtime

The SureFire used to using two types of runtime- tactical and total. You can’t find it consistent with the Standard of ASI FL-1 specifications. Concerning the Ultra E2DL, the maximum runtime is considered as tactical runtime, which is measured until the output falls below 50 lumens. On the other hand, the lower lumen output is considered as total runtime, which exists from 50 lumen point to till the exhaustion of the battery. A thermal regulation feature reduces the output after a few minutes runtime at full output to below 60%. It offers an extra 2hrs 30 mins runtime.

Benefits of E2D

Huge numbers of user appreciations, experts’ certification, best sold unit etc. don’t give a certificate to any product that it’s free from flaw. The DreamFoam Mattress Topper has everything to prove it a worthy and most reliable topper, but still there are few shortcomings in it. We always try to place the right things, the truth informofout respected readers.

  • Bright center hotspot and broad spill useful beam;
  • Versatile uses;
  • Good runtime at less output mode;
  • Compact size;
  • Carry clip is two-way;
