Hey Guys!

1: Have any money left.
and
2: Have the energy to get up early enough to be there on time.
However, Telford ended up falling through (read about that HERE) so I had nothing to lose in going to NFCC, and I’m SO glad I did!

We got to the Metro Radio Arena for around 10:45, as doors opened at 11 am and I didn’t have a ticket so I wanted to be there in good time so I could buy one on the door.
At 11 am they opened the doors and by 11:05 I was inside and ready to experience my first convention!

It was a relatively small event compared to a lot of other conventions, so it didn’t really look like there was enough to do for a whole day… but we managed to find plenty to do!

When we first got there we started to look around the many, many stalls that were there. I did not take enough money with me to cover the millions of things that I wanted. I’m pretty sure there was something from every single stall that I wanted and it was SO HARD to restrain myself! My friend Kylie ended up spending around £60!! The only thing I ended up buying was this amazing digitally altered picture of Ian Somerhalder, which I plan on asking him to sign when I meet him at the end of June! This only cost me £2 and I’m so in love with it!

On our walks around the stalls, we ended up bumping into so many amazing cosplayers who we just had to get pictures with. I even managed to find someone cosplaying as Killian Jones/Captain Hook, and as I was *lowkey but not really lowkey* cosplaying as Emma Swan, I couldn’t not take a picture with him!

After walking around for a while, Kylie and I decided we wanted to buy a photo op with Olga Fonda (Nadia in The Vampire Diaries), who was one of the guests at the convention. However, when we went to the desk to buy a ticket, it turned out we had missed the photo ops, so we decided we would just get an autograph instead.

I’ve met quite a lot of celebrities in the past four years. But Olga is honestly one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met. I was quite nervous as I’ve never met anyone in such a personal, chilled out setting as this was. Kylie and I were the only people in line to meet her at that time so we didn’t have any reason to rush and we were able to have full conversations with her, which was so amazing. As soon as I went up to her she asked me how I was and if I was enjoying myself, which was so sweet. She then noticed I was wearing a red leather jacket which she complimented and we ended up talking for what felt like forever about different coloured leather jackets… I’m pretty sure the guy who was sitting with her thought we were crazy. But being able to talk to her for so long, so casually was amazing, it really felt like I was talking to a friend. We actually talked for so long that I totally forgot  I was there to get an autograph, and the guy with her had to ask me to choose a picture that I wanted to get signed. She then signed it and I asked if we could take a picture, to which she said of course. Before we left the autograph table she thanked us for coming and told us she hoped we enjoyed the rest of our day. She really was the sweetest, most adorable person – and so so beautiful!! – she made my day!

After meeting her we headed over to the seats to sit down as we had been on our feet for a long time and we were starting to get tired. It turned out that there was a stage talk with RJ Mitte happening at the same time, so we watched that, even though none of us actually watch anything that he has been in, it was still quite an interesting talk and we were glad of the sit down!

Once we had rested for a while we wandered around for a while longer, finding stalls we had somehow managed to miss whilst walking around, as well as revisiting some of the ones we’d already been to… just to see if we’d missed anything the first thousand times. There was a schedule up on the wall that told us there was a stage talk with Olga at 3:45 so we played for time until 3:40 before heading back to the seats ready for it to start.

The stage talk was super intimate as not a lot of people were there, so everyone ended up coming forward into a little gathering rather than being spread out across all of the seats. Olga was super enthusiastic, cute and bubbly through the whole of the talk. She kept on asking us if we had any questions and when people didn’t she just went off on totally random tangents telling us random facts and talking about her life. It was so interesting to hear about her time on the set of TVD and working with Nina Dobrev and the boys of Vampire Diaries. It was actually so helpful to hear her tell us that the boys are really sweet, as I’m meeting them at a Vampire Diaries/Originals convention next month and finding out how sweet they are just made me a thousand times more excited!

I took SOOOO MANY pictures during her talk (a few I will post below) as well as filming the whole thing. Check out the video HERE!

Her talk was only supposed to go on for half an hour but I’m pretty sure it ran over by like 15 minutes… honestly, that woman can TALK!! We decided to take liberties and wait near where she would come out of the talk to try and meet her once more before we had to leave to go home. Which we did, and she was so sweet once again taking pictures with all of us before thanking us for coming again and saying goodbye. I’m honestly blown away by her beauty and sweetness, I love her so much and I can’t thank her enough for how amazing she was despite how tired and jet lagged she must have been!

I honestly had such an amazing day on Sunday and I can’t thank Olga, or Showmasters enough for putting on such a fantastic event that made my first convention experience such an amazing one!
If you’re ever thinking of going to a convention, a Showmasters one is definitely a good place to start!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Comic-Con experience! Have you ever been to a convention or do you have any plans to go to any in the future? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you for reading.
Until next time.
