BAFTA Awards Weekend: London – Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of the BAFTA’s Weekend!
If you haven’t read Part 1 check it out here: BAFTA Awards Weekend: London – Part 1

The next day it was BAFTA DAY!! We were super excited!! I had my sign ready in the attempt to meet one of my all time favourite people, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and I just wanted it to be time for the red Carpet to start already!

We had been told to get back to the Albert Hall for noon on Sunday, so we left the hotel at around 10:30am, stopped off at Tesco on the way for snacks to get us through the day, and after getting a tube and waiting forever for a bus, we got to the Albert Hall for pretty much dead on 12pm – good timing!
Once we were there it was pretty much just a case of waiting around until they decided to let us in to the pens, which they did at around 1:30/2pm. We ended up with a space fairly far up the red carpet but we were front row which I was beyond happy about! Then, again it was a case of waiting around for around 3 hours until the red carpet started.

Eventually, after what seemed like forever, I was shaking with the cold, the red carpet finally began!

The first person who arrived was Anya Taylor-Joy, who I took a selfie with!

The next person who arrived was Viola Davis, however she unfortunately didn’t have time to stop.

Shortly after Viola, people started shouting for Daisy Ridley, who was the next person who came to our section. She was so so lovely and signed/took pictures with everyone, including me. She looks so cute in our selfie!

After Daisy, we saw Holliday Grainger walk past but she was also in a rush and didn’t have time to stop, unfortunately.

At the point after Holliday had walked past everything seemed to go crazy. People started screaming and telling me Lin had arrived, at the same time that Jim Chapman – one of my favourite YouTubers – and Nicole Kidman arrived. So here’s me at the side screaming because I’m stressed about where Lin is, trying to get Jim to come over to me because I love him and simultaneously trying to keep Nicole Kidman away because I don’t like her. It was MAD. So, Jim came over in the midst of my stress session and he was so lovely, it was all a blur but i’m sure he told me to breathe at some point. He also let me retake my Photo with him because my first picture ended up blurry and terrible because somebody stuck their paper in my face. He’s such a sweet person and it was so nice to meet him again after last year’s BAFTA’s!

After I’d met Jim I pretty much died because I looked across the carpet and I COULD SEE LIN!!!! He was doing press so I just kept shouting Lin so that he would know once he was done that there were people there for him. At this point, I could see a man walking up and down the carpet, and he seemed to be looking around for signs that were for Lin specifically, which gave me hope that Lin would definitely come over. After he finished doing press, I saw Lin walk a bit further up the carpet and stand alongside the guy who had just been looking at my sign, and at this point he was standing directly opposite me and I was freaking out. I saw the sign guy point at my sign and say something to Lin and all of a sudden he looked up at me and smiled and then he pointed at me and shouted across the carpet “I’m coming!”. However, Lin wasn’t really supposed to be taking pictures because he was SUPER rushed and he was going to get in trouble, so he started doing mission impossible, hopping around the carpet and dodging under peoples arms so that he could get across to me and when he finally had a clear path he ran to me and he put his finger to his mouth and said “SHHH LET’S GO LET’S DO IT”. I didn’t know what was happening because it was all happening so fast and I thought I had gone to heaven and then he knelt down and got his phone out of his pocket and I was just looking down at him with my hands over my mouth in shock and I realised he was trying to unlock his phone to take a picture. At this point it probably would have been a good idea to inform him that you don’t actually have to unlock your phone to take a photo but I didn’t so he was just in front of me panicking because he couldn’t unlock it. He kept saying to me “wait, I got it, no wait, I swear I got it!” and even writing this is making me cry because he was so cute and patient despite how rushed he was and the fact that his phone was being slow he still waited until it worked so that he could take a picture, which I will forever be grateful for. Eventually he got his phone to work and he held it up and took the picture and made sure it saved and then he got up and turned around to me with the cutest face and said “I GOTTA GO” and then i true Lin-Manuel style he hopped away again. I was beyond shook, I couldn’t believe what had just happened and I was so overwhelmed that while I was trying to compose myself, Becci was like “wait, he’s took the photo on his phone, how are you going to get it?” to which I started panicking before realising that he would probably tweet the photo since that man is constantly on twitter. So we just carried on waiting for more people to arrive and all of a sudden I started getting loads of mentions from my followers saying “CHLOE OMG”, so I checked Twitter and it turned out that he had tweeted the photo, which I love SO much, he is so cute and I cannot believe I had the chance to meet him. It was definitely the highlight of the night!

After meeting Lin, anything else that happened was just a bonus, and the next person to arrive was Tom Holland, who I got a photo and an autograph from!

Amy Adams was the next person we saw but she didn’t have time to stop so she just danced past us?

We then met Andrew Garfield who was super sweet to us, he didn’t take pictures but he signed autographs for everybody and he was talking to everyone too, I told him he was amazing in Hacksaw Ridge and he said thank you!

After meeting Andrew, I noticed someone on the red carpet who I thought was Niomi Smart (YouTuber) but I looked again and I changed my mind because I didn’t think Niomi would be there. But then, the person next to me said the same thing and then I realised that it actually was Niomi and so I asked for a picture with her too!

We saw another Naomi after her, Naomi Harris, however she didn’t come over to us either.

The next people to arrive were Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who are by far the cutest couple I’ve ever seen! John came along first and met all the fans that wanted to meet him and then when he was finished he came back down and stood by us to wait for Emily. During which time I heard him ask her if she wanted his jacket and start to take it off to give to her before she told him she was okay. It was SO CUTE I can’t even explain, it’s such a simple thing but it was so cute and not many people heard him say it which makes me happy – I don’t know why! I then met Emily who was so so sweet and I took a photo with her, but she looks like a floating head as neither of us were able to lean in close enough. I still love it though!

Soon after, Dev Patel arrived and I took a photo with him!

Then, just as we thought all the excitement was over. Emma Stone finally arrived. Emma was honestly so sweet and although she couldn’t take photos as she didn’t have time, she signed for everyone and spoke to everyone. She looked so so pretty and she was so cute, she signed my book and when I said thank you she said “You’re welcome!” so happily and smiled!

As well as the photo’s in this, I also ended up with autographs from Luke Evans, Tom Ford, J.K. Rowling, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone!

I had such an incredible time at this year’s BAFTA’s. I would definitely say they were a lot more successful than last year’s, although last year’s do hold a special place in my heart.
It was so good to see all my friends again and have the chance to meet some amazing actors and actresses along with some of my favourite YouTubers, and of course my main man Lin!

I can’t wait until next year’s BAFTA’s and I also can’t wait to see which premieres I end up at this year. I hope you will all stick around to find out!

As always, thank you for reading!

Until next time!
