In The Heights – December 27th, 2016

Hey Guys!

On December 27th I travelled down to London for the day to see In The Heights with my lovely friend, Lucy.
I travelled down on the 7:57 am train which got me into London at around 11 am. When I got off the train, Lucy was there to meet me and from there we walked around London for a while to pass the time until we had to head to the Kings Cross Theatre at around 2 pm, for the 3 pm matinee performance.

When we got to the theatre we got into the merchandise queue to buy our programmes, we were pleasantly surprised by the price of them as so many theatre and arena shows charge upwards of £10.00 for programmes, so when we found out they were only £3.50 we were amazed!

After buying our programmes and checking out the prices of the other merchandise (which was also SUPER reasonable!), just in case we wanted to buy any after the show, we headed over to the bar to order interval drinks, before heading inside to find our seats.

The theatre isn’t that big, so I don’t really think there are any seats in the house where you wouldn’t be able to see the stage, however, our seats were right in the middle of the row, in one of the middle rows, so we pretty much had a perfect view aside from the fact that both me and Lucy are short, and we had tall people in front of us. But we still had a good view!
Soon the show started and we were SO EXCITED! I had been listening to the soundtrack non-stop before seeing the show so I was beyond excited and couldn’t wait to see it in person.
I can’t really say much because obviously, I couldn’t take pictures or record but the atmosphere was ELECTRIC throughout the whole show and some of the songs BLEW MY MIND! The cast was AMAZING and I hope they all get to go on and do Incredible things because they’re all incredible performers! The show ends its run on the West End this Sunday, however, if it ever comes to a city close to you I implore you to go and see it, it’s an absolutely incredible show and you’ll be singing the songs forever after seeing it – I know I still am!

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s writing never fails to completely amaze me and this show is just another example of that. I may be biased because I love him but I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t say the same thing after seeing something he created.

I hope you enjoyed reading and I hope that one day everyone gets a chance to see this incredible show as I guarantee you will love it!

Until next time.
