Christmas is most definitely one of my favourite times of the year! Granted, this year I really don’t feel very Christmassy, but I’m trying to make myself get into the festive spirit. So, I thought I’d share the things I Love about Christmas!
Chocolate
Who doesn’t love being able to eat as much chocolate as is physically possible and feeling absolutely no guilt? I love how chocolate is just a universally acceptable thing to fill your face with at Christmas… even the health freaks do it, that’s when you know it’s okay!
Christmas Lights
Now, I love fairy lights at the best of times. I have them all over my bed and other pieces of furniture in my room, and I still look for ways to incorporate more into my decor. But, there’s something magical about walking around your neighbourhood and seeing everybody’s houses covered in lights and decorations. It’s one of my favourite things in the world!
Travelling
There’s something I really love about going away at christmas, especially if you go to places with a different culture to your own. I just think it’s magical. This Christmas I’ve been to London at the end of November and Amsterdam last weekend. I’m also returning to London two days after Christmas, so I’ve been quite lucky in the way of travelling. Travelling at Christmas is so fun and makes for a change in the way you spend your time, I love it!
Presents
Let’s be honest, we all say we prefer giving gifts to receiving them, BUT you have to admit that receiving gifts is a nice feeling. It really wouldn’t be Christmas without presents!
The Lead Up
Personally, I rarely enjoy Christmas Day, but I LOVE the run up to Christmas. I love the shopping and the baking and the wrapping and the last minute preparations. I think it’s all so much more magical in the lead up to Christmas than it is on the actual day!
Alcohol
This one kind of speaks for itself, tbh. I’m not a massive drinker. I’ve been out for drinks only a handful of times since I turned 18, but I do Drink at home, so the fact that at Christmas you can pretty much drink what you want, whenever you want, makes me happy. They do say “Eat, Drink and Be Merry” after all!
