How to use a networking cable Tester

A network Cable tester is a device that is designed to verify whether the Ethernet computer network cable is capable of transferring data from point 1 to point 2 or not. And before testing, you have to make sure that the cable is well looked up correctly to the clip.

How to use:

  1. Turn On the network cable tester
  2. Plug in the Ethernet cable to the tester, now it should be “ one end of the cable” into the ‘IN’ Ethernet input of the tester.
  3. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the “OUT” input of the network cable tester.
  4. Press the “test button” to start the tester now the tester will send a signal across the Ethernet cable. If the signal gets from one end of the cable to the other, a green light have to appear on the device, letting you know that the tester was successfully and the cable was install correctly. And if the signal does not gets from one end to the other, a red light will appear on the device, letting you know that the tester was not successfully and that the cable is bad or you miss the colour codes.

Thanks and happy networking.
