Pros & Cons

Are you in a rush? Take away these key points from our iTrustCapital Review.

Pros

  • Straightforward, easy-to-use platform.
  • Trades settle within 5 minutes.
  • Services operate 24/7.
  • Offers live chat and phone support.
  • Beginner-friendly on-boarding process.
  • Comparatively affordable services.

Cons

  • No well-developed mobile app.
  • Only supports six cryptocurrencies.

To put the pros into context, you should know how much other platforms charge for your first investment. For example, Regal Assets requires you to put in a $25,000 initial investment. BitIRA is another great company, but your minimum investment would be $5,000 with them.

Finally, although Bitcoin IRA is popular, they don't directly list their current fees on their sites. So, we can say iTrustCapital gives both more transparency and less risk for someone just starting in crypto IRA trading.

On the other hand, the biggest con on this list is its limited capabilities. The company is still fairly new, so it doesn't have the development level others do.

Plus, it could afford to have more diversity by trading metals like platinum, copper or palladium.

Final Verdict

Are you unsure what the safest crypto trading platform for you is? Or, maybe you're tired of high transaction rates and want something more affordable.

If these sound like you, keep reading this iTrustCapital review. Its features might make it the right trade platform for you.

Who is iTrustCapital?

iTrustCapital is a self-directed digital and crypto IRA trading platform. On the dashboard, you can both buy and trade cryptocurrency with real-time conversion rate updates.

The organization launched in 2019, so it's still very green. But since then, it quickly gained a reputation for offering its service at low fees and minimum requirements.

iTrustCapital Services

iTrustCapital lets you trade in several of the most popular and valuable cryptocurrencies available. However, it only supports sic of them. iTrustCapital plans to include Polkadot (DOT) and Stellar (XLM) coming soon, though.

Here is a list of currencies the platform currently accepts:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • Ripple (XRP)
  • EOS (EOS)

Also, iTrustCapital lets you hold two physical assets:

  • Gold
  • Silver

Like any financial investment, you want to know that you've stored your assets in a secure location. Thankfully, iTrustCapital is fairly transparent with its process.

For example, iTrustCapital stores your cryptocurrency with Curv, a leading institutional wallet provider.

For insurance, it works with Munich Re. Munich Re has been a leading global provider of reinsurance since 1880. Together, this partnership covers up to $50 million worth of insurance.

iTrustCapital uses Authy for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). A 2FA will put more security on your account than only a password, and inform you if someone from a strange device is trying to log in.

Finally, you're probably wondering where they would store your gold and silver. The answer is with Royal Canadian Mint, the organization responsible for produces Canada's circulation coins.

Fees & Minimum Investment

iTrustCapital boasts more affordable rates than other platforms to join. If you sign up with them, you can expect the following fees:

  • $2,500 minimum to open your new trust account.
  • $1,000 additional contribution after opening.
  • A $29.95 monthly service fee.
  • A 1% fee per cryptocurrency transaction.
  • Physical Gold charge of $50 over spot per ounce.
  • Physical Silver charge at $2.50 over spot per ounce.

The monthly service fee covers key aspects like the cost of setting up a new IRA. It also pays for IRS/tax reporting support and unlimited storage with institutional custody partners.

Although you have that $2,500 minimum to open a trust with them, there is no maximum on how much you can put into your iTrustCapital account. That makes it a great starting place that you could still use for long-term goals.

FAQ’s

Any company comes with caveats. Here, we addressed some of the most popular concerns so you can feel confident on whether to make a iTrustCapital account.

Is iTrustCapital Legit?

Yes. Publications like Forbes, Business Insider, and Entrepreneur have all recommended it as an option for crypto IRA trading.

You can read more reviews of it in our 3rd Party Rating section.

Where is my Bitcoin or Crypto Stored?

iTrustCapital uses Curv to store digital assets. Curv also uses MPC Cold Storage Practices instead of Standard Cold Storage. While Standard storage requires you to sign off a transaction with multiple keys, MPC storage distributes those keys, so multiple parties sign off.

If you want to understand the difference in more detail, you can read about it in this article.

Why Invest in Bitcoin in my IRA?

Although some call Bitcoin a volatile currency, it has an overall upward trend. People take it more seriously, and government institutions are starting to authorize banks to protect it. So, we can predict it'll likely become more valuable.

Storing your bitcoin in an IRA also helps reduce your taxes versus holding it in other ways. Some IRA forms will even keep your bitcoin storage tax-free.

Do I Need to Set Up an LLC?

You don't need to set up an LLC to have a crypto IRA saving. However, we recommend you consider it to widen your tax options and give your assets more protection.

Does Opening a Bitcoin IRA Require Lots of Complicated Paperwork?

On iTrustCapital, it doesn't. If you find any of the directions tricky, you can schedule a call with them for assistance.

iTrustCapital Reviews & 3rd Party Ratings

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) currently has no ratings for iTrustCapital. However, the Business Consumer Alliance (BCA) gave it an AAA rating. That rating is their highest measure for company reliability and means there's no reason to doubt its legitimacy.

On TrustLink, the young company only has one review so far. It's a 2-star review, which the user gave because of how long it took some funds to arrive into their account.

The highest ratings for an iTrustCapital review come from Trustpilot. 75% of users gave it an excellent 5-Star rating, putting its overall score at 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The happy users applauded it for excellent customer service, user-friendliness, and fair prices. In contrast, those who gave criticism noted that Trustpilot does not support more advanced trading needs.

One example of this criticism is highlighting that the platform does not support Flare Airdrop. Airdrop is a promotional technique where companies with new forms of cryptocurrency send users small amounts of it for free.

If you just want to invest in diversifying your IRA assets, you probably don't need to worry about this. But if you're doing any business with ICOs or cryptocurrency analysis, you might find it limiting.
