Update+weekend getaway:

Happy Wednesday!
I know I set out a schedule a few weeks ago but life has been crazy.
But just know I'm trying!
Today's post will be an update on my PCOS and a fun video of our trip to Tucson.

Valerie Ann

Trip to The Dirty T:

After this last doctor's visit I felt an overwhelming sense of worry and relief.
Although, I finally had some answers there some answers that hurt to hear
My pain hasn't completely gone away from the cyst rupture. So I have been in my room for the majority of these last two weeks- just laying down.
Thinking about all of this and  dealing with this pain.
So after changing my mind 20x about our weekend plans
I decided I would follow through with our trip to Tucson.
We left Saturday afternoon- no rush.
We grabbed Starbucks (who saw my pink drink insta pic?!) and some snacks and headed out.
The drive (an hour + thirty minutes) gave Connor and I plenty of time to talk.
We talked about the books we are currently reading.
We talked very little about my health (Thank goodness).
And we listened to music.
We head out to Tucson to visit Connor's bestfriend and his gf.
We all went out to dinner and then we headed back to their house to play some board games. We played SCRAWL (I'll do a review later)and Resident Evil.
The next morning we headed out to the desert- Connor got new tires!
Check out our first vlog !

Valerie Ann

Pcos update: Wtf.

I know my last pcos post was really long and too much information.
Today's will be the opposite.
I don't want to get too into it,
but just enough to be helpful to those who are going through the same thing.
Last Thursday, I went to a specialist in Phoenix.
The facility is called Gondra Center and is ran by M. Mercedes Gondra, MD, FACOG.
I am beyond grateful already for her time and patience with me.
She took her time to explain PCOS with me before conducting the ultrasound on me herself!
While conducting the ultrasound she became more skeptical of the diagnosis PCOS for me. She discovered a uterus deformity, endometriosis signs, and blood cysts. Which explains my pains, my abnormal/irregular period, and a lot of other things I didn't realize were symptoms.
She again took the time after the ultrasound to sit down with my fiance and I and not only tell us the next step but to explain why we were going to be taking this next step.
The bad news- the answer is surgery. The good news- we found a cause and we're going to solve it. I highly recommend searching for another doctor if you feel like you are leaving your appointments with too many questions.
I had been going to the same gynecologists for 4 years and my uterus deformity is something she should have caught- and instead she quickly diagnosed me and sent me on my way. But I'm trying not to focus on that-
I just wanted to say that we as women should listen to our bodies-
And don't ever let a doctor make you feel like you are exaggerating.
Go after the answers and find a doctor you are comfortable with and confident in!
