Thinking out loud.

Our Engagement dinner is right around the corner.
In one day to be exact.
And it's definitely sinking in that I really did find my partner for the rest of my life.
October 15, 2016 we will be celebrating our engagement with immediate family and our bridal/groom party.  It also coincidentally marks 5 months since Connor got down on one knee in Hawaii.
And I am feeling really really sentimental.
I'm definitely catching myself smiling more than usual today.
It started this morning in the car. Thinking Out Loud x Ed Sheeran was playing. We had been dating for about two months and we were planning on going to a wedding with my mom and dad in Vegas, but my brother broke his collar bone (or something like that), but since Connor and I already had time off we decided to plan a trip to California. And boy was I nervous.
I knew I liked him, but a week trip?! ALONE?! IN THE SAME ROOM!? It was nerve-wrecking.
I'm pretty sure I talked the entire drive to California. As we were driving Thinking Out Loud x Ed Sheeran came on the radio. And I finally stopped talking. Connor was holding my hand (I'm a ball of anxiety on the road) and I just remember soaking in every lyric of the song. I knew right then and there that I loved him. Of course I was way too nervous to say anything.
But by the end of our trip in California we said our first "I love you's"
I can't believe how lucky we have been to have found each other.
It's truly crazy how you can go your whole life without someone and then suddenly you can't go a day without them.  Ahh! Well I have to get back to some of my DIY projects for tomorrow!

Next week I will be doing a series of posts on how everything came together for the engagement dinner.
Until then you can follow me on instagram for photos! (username: @vayayaa)

"Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
But maybe we found love right where we are"

XO,
Valerie Ann
