The manager of prominent artist Davido, Asa Asika, recently provided an in-depth analysis of the fact that his client has not yet engaged in a musical collaboration with Burna Boy and Wizkid.

In a recent appearance on the Ventes Rap show, Asika was placed in a position of scrutiny as the interviewer did not shy away from questioning him about OBO’s apparent absence in joint musical projects with key figures in the sector such as Wizkid and Burna Boy.

The interviewer questioned,

“How come we don’t see Davido featuring Burna Boy or Wizkid?” 

Asika skillfully sidestepped addressing the issue directly in his remarks by shifting the focus towards the collaborative efforts of renowned musicians.

He highlighted that Wizkid and Burna Boy had also engaged in a joint musical project and that the Stand String crooner had previously collaborated with Kizz Daniel.

Asika also underscored the interconnection and cohesion present in the music industry by pointing out his collaboration with the DMW boss.

In his words:

“There have been collaborations, Burna Boy and Wizkid have a song, Davido and Kizz Daniel have a song, Davido and Olamide have a song, Asake is on David’s album, so the big artistes in Nigeria work, they might not collaborate as often but they do. Collaboration is one of the major things that have pushed Afrobeats to where it is.”
