​She had made the Lamp in ceramics class when she was seventeen. The light bulb was housed inside a clay bowl that looked like Irises growing up around the bowing sides to the opening at the top. When the lamp was on the light shone from the gaps between the clay flowers. In her drawing room in the dark winter evenings the shadow Irises appeared to be growing up the walls. It reminded her of her youth and she reminisced about days gone by with a cup of Earl Grey tea and a few chocolate topped digestive biscuits.
