BOOK REVIEW

The book revisits and analyses versatile and renowned bilingual poet, Vihang A Naik’s poetic creation. It has been said over ages that in a Closed in a room, our imagination becomes the universe, and the rest of the world is missed out. Poetry is a creation beyond words and letters. A good poem is a contribution to reality. The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it. A good poem helps to change the shape of the universe, helps to extend everyone’s knowledge of himself and the world around him. The fifteen chapters designed for this book perfectly supplements the tine of the book.

I really loved the way of analysing the poems beginning from the contemporary societal issues till introspecting on the same. Every aspect of the book make you realise that You become a house where the wind blows straight through, because no one bothers the crack in the window or lock on the door, and you’re the house where people come and go as they please, because you’re simply too unimpressed to care. You let people in who you really shouldn’t let in, and you let them walk around for a while, use your bed and use your books, and wait the day when they simply get bored and leave. You’re still not bothered, though you knew they shouldn’t have been let in the first place, but still you just sit there, apathetic like a beggar in the desert, just as a poem does. The book vividly describes how a poem comes alive and how the same can affect our emotions and sentiments. The book also highlights the network between mind, art and the poetry which makes the book even more interesting to read.

I would recommend the book for all those who love to engross themselves within poetry. As far as I am concerned, I love being able to see an un-written future.
