THE PLOT IN BRIEF-

In a world where relationships make or break the deal for a lifetime, it is imperative to be able to have equations that are reliable, compatible and accessible. Luckily enough, sometimes it doesn’t take too much effort to find the right set of people, perhaps because nature has its own way of providing them. From childhood to adulthood, siblings share their environment, principles and interests and are naturally quite compatible. Gone are the days when siblings only gave the best ‘what car to buy’ advice or approved the guy you were dating. Today, brothers and sisters are travelling together, taking up hobbies together and to add to the latest trend, building enterprises together. Varying from tech start-ups to trendy fashion wear, from utility applications to artsy expressions, siblings seem to be partnering up with each other to break away from conventional career choices. SuperSiblings encapsulates the journeys of twenty siblings who have broken away from conventions and supported each other to start-up their Dream ventures.

THE TITLE-

I really loved the tile of the book keeping the perspective of entrepreneurships from the view of ‘Siblings’. I had read about a beautiful reference in context to siblings where it said Similar to siblings, French Fries all stem from the same family, the potato family. Yet each and every one is different. A different shape, a different flavour, a different purpose, etc. Now, despite all these differences, each French fry in the batch will share a similar origin story. However, the outcome will be unique. The point is to have patience with your sibling French fry and realize that life imprints differently on each and every one of us. Some of us will be salty, some of us will be peppered, but in the end we are all just trying to catch up. Keeping thus as the backdrop, the title also gives us a beautiful insight to inspiration. Don’t let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It’s your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don’t let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality — not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others’ prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now. You need to decide who you are for yourself.

REVIEW OF THE BOOK-

The book beautifully describes the journey of twenty odd siblings who paved their way towards their dream. As said, the reason why most of our plans fail it is because when people are giving us a hand in what we do. We have our hands in our pockets or folded. 80 % is on you to make things happen. When people help you they help you with 20 %. If you don’t have 80 % percent ready. Your dreams, goals or what you are trying to achieve, will fail even thou there are people helping you. Help yourself with 80 percent, before people help you with 20 percent to achieve your goals and dreams. The book gives us a completely different insight of the word ‘Dream’. There are those dreamers who make excuses for why they aren’t passionate about or creating anything to match their desires and then there’s those dreamers who stay up late just to finish a goal that will get them up the next set of stairs. We all have dreams but not everyone makes it a reality.

I know that Entrepreneurship is messy,Start-up life is messy. Growing a business is messy. I guarantee you it NEVER looks as glamorous on the inside as it does from the outside.

The book has taught me If you are comparing what is going on in your company to what you see your peers and competitors doing, and feel behind or inadequate, or in any way not up to par…..Just let it go. You have no idea what they are going through that you cannot see. You never will. You don’t need to.
Take a deep breath. Stay on your path. Stay focused on your mission. Stay focused on your customers. Stay focused on your team. Your family. Your health. Find connection and joy in your own journey.
Allow yourself to be inspired and fuelled by others’ success, but by all means, do not allow yourself to get derailed or thrown off of your path. Stay focused.

And lastly, I would like to emphasise the author for portraying such a wonderful idea of amalgamating siblings with entrepreneurship. I think a great entrepreneur is learning every day. An entrepreneur is somebody that doesn’t take no for an answer — they’re going to figure something out. They also take responsibility. They don’t blame anybody else. And they’re dreamers in one sense but they’re also realistic and they take affordable steps when they can.
