Elephant Sanctuary. Ubud, Bali.

When I think visiting animals, a few emotions come to mind. Excitement, as I am an avid Animal lover of course, but then confusion and sadness comes as well. I always come to the conclusion that it’s for their own safety but after reading articles and blog after blog relating to Sea World, I now think otherwise. The good news about the Elephant Sanctuary in Bali was that it was within 3.5 hectares of lush safari park and was filled with endangered elephants. The elephants get baths almost every day, go for walks and live in this tranquil resort where the trainers love them like family. It was refreshing to see them smiling and playing when feeding them the coconuts they love so much.

Elephants are magical creatures with huge personalities. The most beautiful thing about these gentle giants is that they are truly peaceful animals. Bathing them and going for a ride was an unforgettable experience I will always treasure. There is a special characteristic about them that is so humanlike, it’s breathtaking.
