In light of some recent Affiliate Marketing conversations and answers with Blogging it will appear many Affiliate Marketing newbies still struggle with the Blogging concept. The fusion between Affiliate Marketing and Blogging is a time consuming exercise that favours Persistence, Preparation and Consistency.

It’s not about just choosing a few random products and upload the HTML in a text widget, there’s a lot more to actually generating sales with your Blog. If you already have a Blog, then I sincerely hope you started by discovering your profitable niche and using the correct Keyword leveraging tactics. If you did not target your Blog correctly then you will have 2 choices.

Redesign your Entire Blog, or unfortunately you will have to start over the sooner the better or you will Never Rank in Google nor make a single cent online. And I truly hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s the bear truth when you don’t sugar coat it. I know because I started over a few times, in that rush to make money faster, Huge Mistake!

What I did gain however is an arsenal of Affiliate Marketing and Blogging knowledge today flowing into my own Blogs, E-Books, Articles and Guest Posts with sites like Hub-Pages. Truth be told, Blogging and SEO scared the crap out of me when I got started back in 2012. If only I understood the simplicity and logic back then right?

Forget about how much money other people make, stop thinking you cannot do it and refrain from accepting each failed attempt as defeat. Failure is not defeat, it’s merely one step closer to your dream (But there are A Lot of Steps) which is why it is so important to keep going.

Affiliate Marketing is all about getting a Product in Demand, in front of an Interested Audience at the Right Time. The Logic really is that simple, but the actual Implementation I can assure you is not. But that is nothing that time and knowledge cannot remedy, always remember that.

As a successful affiliate marketer your success does depend on both the quality and first impression of your Blog, because without your Blog you will have little means of getting recognised. Without recognition you may end up pretty lost, and eventually even end up quitting as a result of losing interest.

The Proven Successful Sequence to Affiliate Marketing and Blogging is, Direction, Research, Domain, Blog Title, Post Title, Hosting and Content (In that order). If you start with your Domain first, then you have skipped crucial steps and increase your chances of failure exponentially.

Direction – This is also known as your Profitable Niche and can be defined as something you love doing most. This is also why a Hobby is a Great idea and many people have turned their Hobbies into a full time Passive Income Online. If you do not determine that first then you will not be able to target your audience properly and probably end up failing. Your profitable niche is preferably also something you have some knowledge of, because you will need that later to create keyword rich compelling content.

Research – This goes for both Keyword and Product Research, and this must be the most time consuming next to actual Search Engine Optimization. You need a product in demand specific to your Niche which is directly related to the Short Tail, Long Tail and Anchor Text Keywords.

Once you have decided on your Keywords and the Product you want to present to your Audience, you have to actually purchase and test the product you intend to sell.

If you’re not prepared to buy and test the product, then how can you expect someone else to trust you and buy from you if you don’t trust your own presentation? This also helps with Product Knowledge which in turn contributes to your ability creating unique and compelling content.

Domain – Your Domain name should preferably include at least one Short Tail or one Long Tail Keyword Phrase, or one of each if possible. Keyword targeting and SEO is simply the process in which you tell Search Engines exactly what your work is about, you need to be painfully specific. You also want to keep your Domain as short as possible and choose a Domain name that is easy to remember, don’t make it too complicated.

Blog Title – Your Blog Title MUST contain at least one Short Tail Keyword and One Long Tail Keyword Phrase because the Blog H1 Header (Blog Title) is also the Title to your Blog Meta Description. As with your Domain Name, try keeping the Blog Title specific so audiences can recognise the answer to the identified need within your Niche and do not exceed 60 Characters.

If you do decide to use Meta Tags then you must be sure that the Meta Tags and Blog Title Combined does not exceed 60 Characters.

Hosting – In my opinion, the best Hosting Service Provider is Blue Host and the simplicity of installing WordPress as your site builder, and using Plugins is truly outstanding. They are also the Only Hosting Platform (That I Know OF) that offers a refund for your purchase.

Personally I have had Domains, Blogs and Websites with most Established Hosting Service Providers but have actually moved all Domains to Blue Host. I really am THAT impressed with the excellent service offered by these guys.

Content – Writing useful, Unique and Compelling content is another Art that fuses well with Blogging and Affiliate Marketing. This ability can only be obtained through constant Research and Product Testing which will require a Huge Amount of Time to do it the right way and actually profit from it. Always work toward turning your “One Day” into DAY ONE, you don’t have to be successful to start it’s the other way around. You need to start to be Successful.

Now all this may sound extremely technical, as I have mentioned before these technicalities scared the crap out of me back in 2012.
