This has become a very common word in today's world.In the ancient past people never cared to find out what it meant.Today however this Substance which plays such an important part in our diet and which can clog up the arteries and lead to cardio vascular disease,has profile and we are advised to keep our Cholesterol levels down.
Our Body contains three basic types of fats.They are triglycerides,phospholipids and sterols. Cholesterol as the name implies,is one of the sterols.It is essential for life.We can't survive without it in our system.It is needed on the body as the basic material from which bile is made in the liver as a component of all cell walls and for the formation of vitamin D and certain hormones.
  If the body has too much cholesterol it will obviously find a place to store the excess.the deposits if this substance can block the arteries and cause heart disease.To avoid this problem you must avoid taking fatty foods that are high in cholesterol.High cholesterol food include cheese,butter,egg yolk,beef ,pork,cakes,etc.Paltry and fish are generally lower in cholesterol,while vegetables,fruits and vegetable oils and fats contain none.
