Through this post I would like to help the start-up Bloggers. I am not going to describe What to do, instead will describe what I did in the last years. Hope it enlightens start-up bloggers and open the doors to explore.

Blogging and Me: My blog Allwyn's Blog- The Journey has successfully completed 2 years and stepping into 3rd Year in couple of days on 18th September 2017. At this Joyous moment, proud to announce the blog has 50 blog posts under various categories, 10,000 Footprints overall and average of 700 monthly visitors. I take this opportunity to thank my Wife  for her valuable contribution for the blog, Friends and relatives who encourage me to write, Readers around the world and fellow bloggers. You keep me moving with your positive and motivating comments.

How I started my blog: Two years back, on 18th September 2015, I was totally an alien to Blogging and doesn't know even A..B..C of blogging. One fine day after work I was watching television, with no reason I decided to start a blog. I took no time to Google "how to create a blog", within half an hour I have a blog titled, "Blog on the Go". "Blog on the Go" was supposed to provide useful information to the reader in day to day life..  What's going to be the first post?? Ya..you guessed it right "Create your blog in few easy steps" which I just learnt from GOOGLE.

In the next few weeks, I was just trying to learn How to create a post, How to share a post and Exploring blogger templates. Having done three posts " Blog on the Go" went into hibernation for 6 long months. In April 2017 I dusted my blog from hibernation with a motive to provide the readers with self-improvement, Motivation, Memoirs, Travel, Places of interest related articles, titled Allwyn's blog - The Journey. The blog travels with me and documents my Past, Present and future experiences from within and externally.

Social Media and Blogging: Social media is the front end platform for a blog, to increase the viewership and gain more readers organically. To have a wider reach with friends and public, I created a FB page @blogthejourney, and used FB and Google+ timelines. I enrolled for bloggers group in FB and Google+ and also enrolled my blog in Blogarama, Blogadda, Indiblogger etc.. which introduced the blog to peer bloggers.

Design of the blog: Blogger(I am with BlogSpot) has many templates from Classic to Magazine with various color schemes which is adaptive for Mobile screens too. My desktop page is a template which I downloaded from a free template provider and for mobile page I use the standard schemes available in blogger. As more and more readers use mobile phones to read blogs, it's important to have a template which can adapt for the different mobile screen sizes which I left to the experts to handle.
I use RSS feed to get subscription. I have updates on live cricket scores in desktop version powered by ESPN Cricinfo.

Future Plan: I am planning to completely redesign the look and feel of the blog, add additional features for the readers to have best experience. I am also planning for Search Engine optimization, to get traffic from the search engines. I will take experts help to redesign and do SEO. I also have plans to blog in my mother tongue Tamil. Content is more important than design or SEO which makes the readers return to the blog again and again. I would also step on the accelerator, posting atleast 6-7 posts/months instead of the current rate of 3-4 posts/month without compromising on my main stream job, Family and other duties.

Adding Lemon Jest for flavor: To summarize, Decide what your going to write about, Select suitable template for your blog, Popularize your blog( I prefer organic development), Have future goals for your blog.
